We are pleased to announce that the Volume 2, Issue 3 of The Trumpet is now available for download. It is somewhat pleasant to say that we have reached 100 pages of new compositions for you to enjoy.
There will be an all-day singing from The Trumpet on November 4th 1pm-5pm at the University of Massachusetts, Lowell at Durgin Hall, 35 Wilder Street. If you think you might be in the area, contact Tom Malone at shapenote@gmail.com. This will be the second annual singing.

Why is the all-day singing only 4 hours – is that all the daylight you get in Massachusetts in November?
Tom, I think it only takes 4 hours to sing through this volume of The Trumpet. Also, 4 hours of sight-singing is probably enough hours of sight-singing.
I’m a recent shape note singer and have been delighted to be made so welcome into this fellowship! I’d no idea it was a living tradition when I was captivated by an Alan Lomax collected recording of Sherborne over 20 years ago. So glad the compositions keep coming in too!
